Pierre's Ice Cream Hosts Benefit for Cuyahoga Community College Scholarships in Celebration of 80th Anniversary

Benefit to Feature a Preview of Pierre's New Line of Signature Ice Cream

Cleveland, OH – June 18, 2012 – Pierre's Ice Cream Company is celebrating 80 years of making delicious ice creams and frozen treats right in the heart of Cleveland, Ohio.

To mark this milestone anniversary, Pierre's will kick off its celebration with a party.

Cuyahoga Community College Foundation's annual scholarship benefit will take place Saturday June 23 at Pierre's Ice Cream Company. Themed "A Cool Evening for Scholarships," guests will be treated to an ice cream extravaganza featuring dinner, music and Pierre's Ice Cream. The event will also include a one-time-only, special behind-the-scenes plant tour and sneak preview of Pierre's new line of ice cream pints scheduled to arrive on store shelves in late June.

"With this being our 80th anniversary, we wanted to do something very special that would benefit the community," said Pierre's President and CEO Shelley Roth. "By hosting this exciting party, we are able to help raise scholarship money to help afford students the opportunity for a college education."

"Thanks to the generous support of so many, we have raised significant funds for critically needed scholarships for Tri-C students from this event," said Gloria J. Moosmann, Vice President, Resource Development and Cuyahoga Community College Foundation.

The evening will include a special performance by legendary entertainer Frankie Avalon. All proceeds will benefit the Tri-C Foundation, which offers scholarships to Tri-C Students.

"No party would be complete without ice cream, of course," said Roth. "And that's why are previewing our new, very special line of indulgent ice cream, Pierre's Signature, to delight and excite our guests and fans."

Offering "the ultimate ice cream experience" Pierre's Signature will feature seven unique and indulgent flavors: Banana Fudge Chunk, Cherries & Chocolate Chunks, Chocolate Lava Cake, Coconut Fudge Almond, Exquisite Vanilla, Mocha Mud Pie and Nun Better™ Snickerdoodle.
