National Ice Cream Day, established by presidential proclamation in 1984, falls on the third Sunday of July – National Ice Cream Month. In his proclamation 40 years ago, President Ronald Reagan invited all the people of the United States to observe the holiday with “appropriate ceremonies and activities.”
