Serve ice cream desserts good enough for anyone’s list

The holiday season is a delicious season … dessert season! Ice cream is the perfect complement to your family’s traditional classics … from festive Christmas cookies and fresh pies, to the classic fruitcake.

Here are a couple ideas from Pierre’s holiday ice cream recipe book!

Gingerbread Man Ice Cream Sandwiches

Bake a batch of gingerbread cookies … or purchase some from the store if baking’s not your thing. Pull out a carton of Pierre’s Cinnamon, or other favorite Pierre’s flavor, from the freezer and let soften, just enough to spread, about 10 minutes or so. Lay one cookie down on a baking pan. Spread a thick layer of ice cream onto the bottom cookie. Top with a second cookie. Cover with wrap and freeze until ready to serve.

Christmas Cookie Ice Cream Trifle

Make too many holiday cookies? What to do with all those broken ones? A great way to use up extra or leftover holiday cookies is to layer them into an ice cream trifle – think of it as a giant parfait! This recipe is most delightful when a variety of cookies is used.

Simply line the bottom of a trifle dish or other serving bowl with a layer of crumbled cookies. Then, press scoops of your favorite Pierre’s Premium Ice Cream flavor into the cookie layer. Add another layer of cookies, then another layer of ice cream, and repeat until you reach the top of the dish.

Alternate layers with French Vanilla  and Chocolate, or go all out and use Cookies & Cream and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough for a trifle that’s loaded with even more cookies!

Cover your creation with whipped cream and garnish with chopped nuts, mini chocolate chips, dried fruit or cookie crumbs. Wrap and freeze until ready to serve.

Ice Cream Yule Log

Serve this stylish dessert at your next gathering. Use Peppermint Stick or any other flavor of ice cream, like Emerald Cookies & Fudge or Mint Chocolate Chip for a luscious, minty treat your guests will love.

Eggnog Milkshake

You can easily make this popular treat at home. Place a scoop of Pierre’s Classic Vanilla into your blender, and add one cup of store-bought or prepared eggnog. Blend until smooth. Garnish this shake with crumbled ginger snaps or a dusting of nutmeg and cinnamon. Attention adults: Add one shot of spiced rum for a creamy holiday cocktail!
